Miscellanea
Hey, dudes, how's it going?
The last time I checked, summer was just ending, so yesterday I was quite surprised to notice the big piles of fallen leaves on the ground outside of where I go to get my hair cut (finally! Haven't had my hair cut since September of last year, which is a good 14 months ago. My hair is still long, mind you, except now it's just long as opposed to ridiculously long, so it's all good). I mean, when did that happen? I realize that it is already November, but seriously...the fall has really crept up on me this year. Weird.
Another weird thing going on right now is that one of our condo windows is seriously cracked...like, not just a little cracked. TOTALLY cracked. At first glance my mom thought it was just weirdly frosted over or something, but then it was just the one pane so she took a closer look...you can see for yourselves - it's a camera phone photo so it isn't the greatest, but still. I'm pretty sure you can tell which pane it is.

I've been listening to the
Deathly Hallows audiobook -- I have no reason to do so, really, other than "why not?" -- and it's the British version read by Jim Dale. Funny part is that my mom heard it and said it sounded like I was watching
Pushing Daisies, and I said that it probably just sounded similar because it was a cutesy, British narration. Then I was watching the latest
Daisies episode with her today and actually saw the name 'Jim Dale' in the opening credits. Ha! So it turns out my mother actually has quite a good ear; it is the same narrator after all.
Speaking of
Pushing Daisies, thought I should mention the new shows I've been watching. My favorite of the new shows might be
Chuck, I think, and I've also been enjoying
Dirty Sexy Money.
Daisies started off being somewhat too cute for my liking, but it's in a good groove now for the most part and easier to like. There's also
Reaper, which I'm not sure my
mother minions always remember to record for me, and
Gossip Girl, which so far is a moderately-entertaining, no-thought-required hour of viewing.
Private Practice is a take-it-or-leave-it and I usually end up leaving it in favour of a bit of downtime in the middle of a busy workweek. At least
Piz is still getting work. The first episode of
Women's Murder Club was decent enough but I think I'll use Fridays to catch up on everything else.
Moonlight is as suck-ass as it sounded like it would be; sorry,
Logan. At least
Veronica's on a decent show.
Captain Mal and the man they call
Jayne are doing all right, too. Also,
Joss Whedon has just announced that he's got a new show that will be coming to TV soon, probably in 2008 depending on the writers' strike. Yay!
My So-Called Life just came out on DVD again, which is exciting. If you haven't watched the show before I highly recommend buying the set. It's only 19 episodes, too, so it's not a big commitment if you're weary about that kind of thing. Also,
The Princess Bride is being re-re-released on DVD again...but it's really cool this time! Come on; just check out the box cover art and tell me it isn't awesome.

I'm going to Houston, Texas for work next week. Should be interesting; I'm thinking of maybe going to visit the NASA Space Center while I'm there, if I have time. Have to make the travel arrangements, argh.
Also, one last thing - which of these CD album covers do you like better?
